Obituary:

Maxine S. Kent, 84, of Pevely, Mo., passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012, at De Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County.

She was born April 26, 1928, in Alton, Mo., daughter of Stella Elliot and Grant Wilcox.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Odell Kent; a daughter, Betty Ann Reece; a sister, Rosetta Brewster; and a granddaughter, Lindsay Kent.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Kent and wife Janet of Festus, Mo., Randy Kent of Herculaneum, Mo.; four daughters, Sue Koob and husband Richard of Los Fresnos, Texas, Wanda Kent of Pevely, Terri Keith and Mike Ruehling of Old Appleton; Sherri Karnes and husband Thomas of Pevely; a son-in-law, Steve Reece of Festus; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was an assembler for Von Weise Gear, Inc. in St. Louis.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, with Matt Culbertson, pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Festus, officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. today in Bollinger County Memorial Park at Marble Hill, Mo.
