Obituary:

George Arthur Phillips Sr., age 90, of Marble Hill, MO, died Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Monticello House in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born January 27, 1916 at Kimmswick, MO, son of George Alfred and Bertha Eliza O’Neill Phillips. He married Agatha Marie Heinemann on May 16, 1936 in the United Methodist Church in Valley Park, MO and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2002.

He was a member of the Harmony Congregational Methodist Church, and an over the road truck driver.

Survivors include; two sons, John Phillips of St. Peters, MO, Charles Phillips of Eureka, MO, six daughters Rose Rice of Poplar Bluff, MO, Carolyn Pruett of Gerald, MO, Betty Williams & Donna Long both of Cape Girardeau, Mo Ann Brown of Marble Hill, MO, Mary Andeline of Sunrise Beach, MO, thirty-five grandchildren, sixty-seven great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his parents, one son, George Jr., one grandson and three brothers, Frank, Jesse and Caroll Phillips.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ross officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
