Obituary:

Katherine M. Markham, 81, of Advance passed away Monday, August 4, 2014, at her home.

She was born January 13, 1933, at Zalma, Missouri, daughter of Earley Gilbert and Ester Mae Beshears Benfield. She and Jack R. Markham Sr. were married February 13, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Katherine was a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell 13 years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Advance First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Jack R. Markham Jr. of Advance, Alan Markham of Leopold, Missouri, and Kevin Markham of Advance; a daughter, Nancy L. Huhn of Fenton, Missouri; a brother, Jerry Benfield of Advance; a sister, Dixie Ross of Kennett, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, four brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill, Missouri.
